Do you know "Personal Music"?

Generally according to the listeners experiences, music is a set of melodious sounds which doesn't mean need to be sync. Melodious is the main and important part of this definitions. It can be vary with a group of people of ethinicity, age, sex as well as location. Like african people's melody can not be as melodious to indian people. This happens because of culture; this culture involves lifestyles, religion, economy and obvious the tradition. Tradition is what our forefathers and their forefathers used to do or maintain. Without tradition, a nation cannot develop. For this reason, african music or west-indian music may be disturbed us, similarly the tune of Ravi Shankar or Mozart may cause exhausment among them as well.

I am talking about music where according to our tradition, a singer sings or a musician plays while a group of people or nation enjoys it. Let's think about a concert or a TV/Radio musical program or think about our Pohela Boishakh program at Botomul. Indians have most probably the richest traditions of music and also their music rules over the world. But now a days, I am amazed by listening that the music has changed its form. This happens because of following reasons:
1) Various kinds of musical instruments and technology of sound producing/modifying is available.
2)The thirst of making newer things or creativity in musicians.
3) The change of habits in music listeners.

Point 1 & 2 is universal as time changes it will happen obviously. But point 3 is my concern of interest. Now a days, the habit of listening music has changed as the result of technological blessings. Not far away, I mean even in Eighties, the music listeners' option was Radio, Cassette player, TWo-in-one, and very few also unpopular WALKMAN. I have seen many of my friends have bought WALKMAN set with huge interest and afterwards it was damaged due to be unused! During that period, people were more concern about Cassette deck set with good speakers by which they can listen the music with their family members. I have remembered there were tradition in any occasion like Eid, Brithday party, Wedding party, etc. people used to have cassette player based music system and played that is loud volume.

But now a days, you don't need to think about the option even, there are lots of available. You can listen music in your mp3/mp4 player, ipod, mobile, fm radio, dvd player, car audio, karaoke system or even in your computer. And I think these variable options have made the music more personlized now. MP3 player or ipod as well as it's format of music and storage capacity is so available now. This enables the music lovers listen the music all around the clock. Currently, a mobile phone without mp3 player and fm radio can not be imagine.

As a result, the music becomes personal. It seems little bit odd. But let's have some examples, if we observe some indian music which is recently released, we can feel it cannot be listen among a crowd. But those are enjoyable music when it is listen individually. Also the music directors now composing music which is really can be declared as "Personal Music". This "Personal Music" is featured by heavy instrumental music and orthodox voice which is really odd by listening it in public place. Though in Bangladesh, the rate of producing "Personal Music" is less but not the least. Recently a group of Physicians have discovered that music can be the healing method of several diseases. So, whatever the "Personal Music" is, it is very enjoyable for the music lovers. But we must also remember that long time of hearing music in loud volume using head-phones can reduce the efficiency of hearing, which may cause permanent damage in our ear. Also I request to the music directors and musicians to compose music without using non-audible noise eg. high frequency noise which is harmful for the hearing system by the sake of creativity.

At end, hope every people will listen and love the good music according to their culture which also helps to strengthen the soul of their nation.
