What is Earthquake?

Scientists & Geologists will explain this as a special kind of natural phenomenon which roots in the center of the earth. Almost all of the scientists and researchers agreed that the earthquake occurs due to movement of the very high temperature elements in the central of earth. These explanations are not very complicated now-a-days as we all have read this in our geography book during elementary education.
I want to discuss another explanation which came from the creator of these all. Which explains what it is actually, and He is the director of all these plays. HE IS Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala. His Beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) has showed & explained many of Allah’s Nia’mat and His activities to the mankind.

The History:
The ball of fire & water… the place of war & fight… fight between only liquid fire & water… huge battle that none can imagine… giant & powerful waves & tides… - this was our earth one time. Nothing was rest here… everywhere there was unrest and wildness.
One day, the Farishtas (Angels) had observed that everything was tamed & disciplined. They were astonished and asked their LORD Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala, Dear Lord! It is strange, we thought this unrest will never stop… how it is happened, our Lord?
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala replied, “I have stopped it in sudden so that the high tide & waves create giant & gigantic mountains… and they are the pillars of the roof.”
[Note: We have seen 6,500 hills & mountains around the holy Mecca Sharif which is considered the central of the world. In Quran, we see Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala declares Himself as … “Rabbul Mashriquaini wa rabbul Magribayin”… means the lord of east and west … So the world expands towards east and west like this (((-))) format.]
The Farishtas was amazed of Allah’s creation and asked again, “My Good Lord! These mountains are soo big and powerful. Is there anything more powerful than this in earth?”
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala replied, “Yes, there is. And that is IRON”.
[Note: Using Iron, we can dig out the mountains; we can make them into small pieces of rocks. So, Iron is more powerful than the mountains]
The Farishtas got amazed again and asked, “ Ya Rab! It is true that iron is more powerful than mountains. There shouldn’t be anything more powerful than iron.”
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala replied, “No, there is more powerful element than iron. And that is FIRE”.
[Note: No iron in the world can stay hard in fire. It melts down like cream in fire. Also, it can burn everything into ashes & dusts by its flame within a moment. So, it is more powerful than mountain and iron.]
The Farishtas get astonished again by seeing the power of fire and commented, “Offcourse our Lord, there is no powerful than fire in the earth.”
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala replied,” water is more powerful than fire”.
[Note: Fire has devastating power of destruction but cannot exceeds before water. Water turns the fire down within a second. So, water has a tremendous control over fire.]
The Farishtas overwhelmed and admitted it, “Dear Lord! It is off course true that the water is most powerful above all.”
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala replied,” No, there is more powerful element than water and that is WIND.”
[Note: Wind can control water; when the sea storm occurs the water becomes helpless in front of wind force. During Tsunami, Wind raises the water to the 30/40 feet high and fells down again.]
The Farishtas agreed and asked, “surely our Lord is true, what can be more powerful than wind?”
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala replied again,”Mankind”.
[Note: See, Human beings are destroying mountains, shaping/using the iron, creating the fire from a single small woodstick, using the fire to cook delicious foods, exploring the upper& inner side of ocean water, control the wind and enter it to the tyre or tube or cylinder. How amazing! Suban-Allah]
Also, Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala instructed the farishtas to give sajdah to prophet Adam (al.), the first human being. So, we are mankind, we are very fond of our Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala. He likes and loves us the most among His all creatures. Among mankind, we are muslims; Ummat-e-Mohammadi – the followers of great prophet Ambiya-e-Mursalin (Leader of all prophets) and Rahmatallil-Alamin (the blessings for all) Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala has sent lots of prophets for the mankind to show us the right path of Islam & Allah. It was a very tough job for them; they faced lots of tortures and sorrows for spreading the truth about Allah. When the tortures became non-tolerable, most of them asked punishment for their Ko’um (group of people). But only one prophet, our Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) never asked for any kind of punishment for His group of people. He blessed us with Holy Quran, Hadith and lots of valuable events/rituals.

The Problems:
But Satan and ill-side of human mind never stops their activities. They convinced the people for sin and guna’ah.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also warned us and narrates the types of sins:
1. Alcohol will be called Sherbat, and will be considered Halal.
2. Interest will be called Trade, and will be considered Halal.
3. Bribes will be called Gifts, and will be considered Halal;
4. Women will be naked in spite of wearing dresses. This Hadith has baffled the Ulema for a very long time-until now: The 3 kinds of naked women are (i) Those who wear see-through dresses (ii) Those who wear tight dresses and (iii) those whose dresses are so short, that they expose the body;
5. Women will have hair, like the hump of a camel. (This hadith too, had baffled the Ulema for quite a long time till they saw current hairstyles. I believe it came into fashion about 5 years ago.);
6. Amana’at (deposits) will be never returned and used as own;
7. The Leaders of the group of people will be low-class people instead of qualified people.
8. Husbands will be more obedient to their wives than their parents;
9. Lots of female dancers will be showed off here and there and lots of instruments will be used in music.
10. There will be quarrel in Masjids and holy places.
11. Zakat will be considered as the punishment or fees.
12. Reliefs and Aids will be used as the luxury of the rich people.
13. People will not recognize their parents; Parents will be treated as the poor people by their children.
14. The number of men will decrease, whilst the number of women will increase, until for every man there are 50 women.
15. Women will take the appearance and getup of men; and men will have women’s.
All of the above sins are we doing nowadays; considering these as minor sins. When above 15 sins spread in our society massively, Allah Ta’ala sends Gazab (Punishment) for the society. During that time, no do’a (prayers) of dervish or learned people or pious people will be considered.
Increasing Earthquakes is one of the dangerous punishments which Allah Ta’ala sends to human society. There are many natural calamities happen which our scientists explained to us e.g. Cyclones, Flood, Hurricanes and currently Tsunami. Also we have invented lots of methods to save our lives from these dangerous natural outrages. But for earthquake there is no remedy. None can show any method for saving from Earthquake. But there is remedy… the remedy what Allah Ta’ala teaches us, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) demonstrates us.

The Solution:
Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala says:
"Evil (sins and disobedience to Allâh) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds), that He (Allâh) may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allâh, and begging His Pardon)."
[Surah Ar-room: 31: verses-41]
The solution is keeping us closer to Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala. Do you think that it is very much hard? No let’s tell you a story of Dawood (AM), the great prophet of Allah. He is famous for his extra-ordinary knowledge and wisdom. He comments that if someone turns all the trees of the world as arrows and throws to you how we can escape? The only way to escape is keep yourself closer to that person who throws the arrows; thus none of the arrows will touch you. So, when Allahu Sub'hanahu wa Ta'ala sends the punishment, we should stand closer to Him to protect us from His punishment. And the only way to keep closer to Him is to connect Him. The only number is ALLAH and the dialing method is NAMAZ (Salat), Jikr and all the Nafal Ibadats (extra prayers).
Quakes, tremors, floods, fires, and explosions are all mentioned in the authentic traditions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as signs heralding the imminence of the Hour. The sheer ferocity and fury of an earthquake definitely bring to our mind the Qur’anic depiction of the violent convulsions the earth is bound to undergo in its final quaking: (When the earth is shaken violently in its (final) quaking, when the earth throws out its burdens, when man cries, “What is happening to it?”; on that Day, people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds: whoever has done an atom’s weight of good will see it, but whoever has done an atom’s weight of evil will see that) (Az-Zalzalah 99:1–8).
Finally, let us all flee to Allah in refuge and seek sincere repentance for all our sins of omission and commission. May the Beneficent Lord make such calamities not as a source of perdition for us in our faith but as experiences that are bound to enhance our faith and trust in Allah and His will. Ameen.
